A new year, a new continent, new travel mates, more adventures...

You are always digging in the past or poking in the future, but rarely do you rest in the moment. It is something like the story of my dear friend, Susan, who - whenever she sees a beautiful place - exclaims in near panic, 'Its so beautiful here! I want to come back here someday!' And it takes everythig, all my persuasive powers to try to convince her that she is ALREADY here...now is the only time..."

What a great reminder to have as we pass through various spots and are stunned with the same reaction of "I want to come back here one day!" It is something I continue to remind myself of. Live in the now, embrace all that comes your way, your passions will lead you where they will at the end of the day.

Oh Andy Andy Andy...
Visited the Andy Warhol exhibit on at the Modern Art Museum in Buenos Aires. This is a thought that stuck with me:
"Everybody has their own America, and then they have the pices of a fantasy America that they think is out there but they can't see. When I was little, I never left Pennsylvania, and I used to have fantasies about things that I thought were happening in the midwest or down South, or in Texas, that I felt I was missing out on. But you can only live in one place at one time. And your own life, as it is happening to you never has any atmosphere until it is a memory. So the fantasy corners of America seem so atmospheric because you have pieced them together from scenes in movies and music and lines in books. And you live in your dream America that you have custom made from art and schaltz and emotions just as much as you live in your real one". (Andy Warhol, 1985)

Young, artistic, energetic, creative, fun. For me, B.A. was the Barcelona of South America. I fell in love with this place and will be back.

I just finished this book and although there were many insightful thoughts, one stuck with me in particular:"No life is a waste. The only time we waste is the time we spend thinking we are alone"
